When illegal drugs were found in the automobile and our client was observed holding an object that appeared to contain that same substance, it appeared to many, including the prosecutors, that he had been caught “red-handed.” However, careful review of the evidence revealed the weaknesses in the state’s case. After Haskin alerted the prosecution to the errors, the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor and the client was released.
